Pc crashed and said it had to restart. after restart would not boot Windows. blank screen. can access boot and setup menu but no OS. scanned as a slave drive. scan reports infected withTrojan:DOS\Alureon.A location of virus is \\.\physicaldrive1\(mbr) scan can't clean and I can find no info on this virus. also can't access location for manual delete. TDSSKiller worked for us.This viurs kept coming back. Security essentials would find it and want a reboot. When reboot was done, it would find it again. The pc was usable but infected. Downloaded TDSSKiller and ran it and select boot sectors to scan. It said it found "Rootkit.Win32.TDSS.tdl4". We selected cure (don't remember exactly after that). Was fixed in a few seconds. Think it wanted a reboot and never got the virus back. Never ran the "scan drives", did not have to. lsattle
